We just want to burn

Me and you,
I see you and burn
You too reciprocate and burn me too.
Forget me for a moment
I will forget your name too,
then tell me who can say
which is which and who is who?

But you will never understand, would you?
Abusing each other in the day, those arch enemies
Brothers in arms at night, toasting Champagne
To the army of foolish slaves they breed.
Partners in crime, belonging from the same shrine,
their companies and parties sell hate each day,
and you wait greedily in long queues to receive.

Me and you,
the pawn in their games.
Still willing to kill each other for religion
and believing as martyr we have deceased.
High atop they sit, on those clouded skies
many faces projected but same act they play
one who refuses to wear skull caps
and another who willingly tries.
Appeasement and rejection
both playing the opposite sides of the same coin.

It’s the same old story of a sword and a shield
one face providing you bullets for your guns,
another applying poisonous ointment
so my injuries will never heal.
So tell me friend who was wounded and who won?
Divided we are falling each day,
But we still just want to burn.
